Sydney Burnley is the Marketing Manager at Fletcher Home, where she leads integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns, community and brand engagement, and mentorship initiatives. In her role, Sydney is committed to building meaningful connections between the Fletcher Home brand and the Fredericksburg community through strategic partnerships, event sponsorships, and local engagement.

Growing up as a military kid, Sydney moved every two years, but when she arrived in Fredericksburg for college, something felt different. Now her longest home at six years and counting, Fredericksburg isn’t just where she lives, it’s where she has chosen to put down roots and invest in the community that finally felt like her own.

Sydney’s path to Fletcher Home is a story rooted in that same community. During her time at the University of Mary Washington, she joined Campus Recreation as a marketing intern, growing into the role of Marketing Coordinator. She was also an active member of Women in Business, an experience that shaped her passion for community and professional development. After graduating, an internship with Fraser Wood Elements opened the door to her current role at Fletcher Home, a full-circle moment that continues to inspire her work today.

Driven by a desire to give back, Sydney launched an internship program at Fletcher Home to create the same kind of real-world opportunities for current UMW students that helped launch her own career. Connecting students to meaningful professional experiences is a cause she champions both personally and professionally.

Sydney earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in German from the University of Mary Washington in 2023. She is honored to join the UMW Women’s Leadership Colloquium Advisory Board and looks forward to investing in the next generation of women leaders in the community she is proud to call home.
