Traditional First-Year and Transfer Admission
UMW accepts both The Common Application (both first-year and transfer students) and the UMW Application for first-year students and transfer students. Please apply along with an essay, application fee, or approved waiver. We can’t wait to get your application! We’ll send you an email when we receive it and let you know if anything’s missing. Please know that it’s your responsibility to make sure your file is complete and keep copies of all application materials.

The University of Mary Washington offers the Bachelor of Liberal Studies (BLS) and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree Completion Program for adult learners who want to grow their careers and gain some traction from the professional experience already gained.

BSN Completion Program
The BSN Completion Program is a post-licensure degree program administered by the College of Arts and Sciences. The program’s mission combines the University’s mission with the recommendations contained within the Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Along with seven higher-level nursing courses, the program will continue the UMW tradition of liberal arts education by including three liberal arts courses. The program will enhance the writing, critical thinking, and speaking skills of RNs whose focus is the delivery of direct patient care and prepare them for lifelong learning and professional creativity.

The Spring 2023 semester for the Master of Business Administration program will be the final intake of International graduate MBA students seeking a residential (in-person) program. The application deadline for international students seeking admission will be Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
In the M.Ed. with Initial Teacher Licensure Program. You’ll get a personal adviser and a learning plan tailored specifically for you. You will get valuable field experience in one of nine neighboring school districts.
UMW’s College of Education Endorsement and Certificates Programs offer a graduate endorsement and two certificates. UMW’s added credentials give educators increased knowledge in a particular field of study. The added credentials will lead to more lucrative and fulfilling employment options.
