Coming Home
We’ve missed you! If you’re an undergraduate student who has been away from UMW for three consecutive semesters (excluding summers) and are ready to return and continue your degree, we’re here to help you get back on track.
If you’re ready to return to campus, here’s what you need to know about the readmission process.
If you were on a UMW-approved leave of absence during each semester you were not enrolled, you do not need to apply for readmission.
- To be eligible for readmission, you must either have a GPA of at least 2.0 or seek approval from the Committee on Academic Standing. If you are unsure of your academic status, please contact the Office of the Registrar.
- Seeking readmission to an undergraduate program (first-year or transfer), you must apply here by submitting an Undergraduate Readmission Application.
- Seeking readmission into a graduate program (M.Ed., MBA, Licensure, Post Masters), you must apply here by submitting a Graduate Readmission Application.
- Readmitted students are subject to current degree requirements.
- If you’ve attended any other educational institution during your absence from UMW, you must submit an official transcript from that school.
Military Service Members & Reservists
UMW recognizes that military service requirements may temporarily interrupt a student’s education. Service members and reservists who must temporarily stop attending classes or suspend their studies due to military service obligations may be eligible for readmission to their program upon completion of their service requirements.
Students whose enrollment is interrupted by military service should contact the Office of Admissions to discuss their readmission options and required documentation. UMW will work with eligible service members and reservists in accordance with applicable federal requirements governing readmission following military service.
For additional general information on readmission and reinstatement, check out our Readmission Procedures or call (540) 654-2000.
