The University of Mary Washington is excited to have two newly renovated spaces that will open next academic year. Seacobeck Hall is undergoing renovations and will be home to the College of Education with an expected open date of spring 2022. Virginia Hall is expected to open in fall 2021 and will be home to incoming first-year students.
For more than 80 years, Seacobeck Hall served as the main dining facility on campus. Upon completion of the University Center in 2016, dining services were relocated, and plans began to repurpose the building for the College of Education.
Virginia Hall’s large open hallways, the parlor, and the amazing open staircases have been preserved in the renovation allowing residents to feel some of its history. Renovations have made rooms and common areas a modern, comfortable space.
New features include:
- New large kitchen and lounge area
- New conference room and study space
- New lounges and gathering spaces on the upper floors
- Small kitchenettes on the upper floors
- A re-imagined parlor
